Diets Need Healthy Food

Have you heard of the ‘Snickers’ diet? This is one I got from my neighbor who swore that whenever she needs to lose a few pounds she just eats three Snicker bars a day. One for each meal. Now that struck me as very unhealthy. Who does that?
The truth is that we need to eat healthy if we want to stay healthy. That means we need to eat quality protein, healthy fats and carbs that we get primarily from fruits and vegetables. Do something different (like the Snickers diet) and you’ll end up feeling run down. The problem with silly diets like the Snickers diet is that eating a candy bar just spikes your insulin levels and doesn’t provide you with the protein or fiber you need.
The problem is that eating well usually takes a lot of preparation. And even then we may end up eating too many calories to really lose substantial weight. If your life is hectic enough and you want a simple – practically idiot proof – way to lose weight fast, consider the Medifast diet.
