With the World Cup going on it isn’t that hard to notice how fit these athletes look on TV. And it isn’t by accident they look that way. Muscle training is what separates athletes for the non-athletes. They work harder on their bodies. They know that muscle training will provide them stamina and endurance to perform at the highest levels. The non-athlete can work just as hard as the pro athlete but without an outlet to release some of that muscle energy the non-athlete settles for just a well toned body. And there is nothing wrong with that if that is your objective goal. Let’s face it how many pro athletes are there? Not everyone has the skill. Yet the non-athlete can muscle train like the pro athlete. Read the rest of this entry »

You must remember those times when you visit the swimming pool and later find your hair in a mess due to the chlorine in water. Chlorine also causes unnatural tanning of the skin which is unsightly. Trick or treat?! Ready or not, it’s around the corner … Halloween is almost here. Memories of going “trick-or-treating” are as vivid for me as any other childhood memory. Barely being able to breathe through an uncomfortable, scratchy mask … feeling empowered by wearing a superhero cape. I’ll be honest; part of me still wants to wear a super-hero cape from time to time. But now as an adult, all I can think about is the damage this candy is doing to my doctor suggested low cholesterol diet. (What my doctor doesn’t know won’t hurt me, right?) I enjoy grilling all year round. There have been many times in the past that I’ve made dinner plans that revolved around grilling outdoors only to have Mother Nature step in and change my plans. So at the last minute, I’d end up switching my meal into the oven for cooking – which always meant more pans to clean up than I preferred. Then recently I went to dinner at a friend’s home and watched how easy it was for her to prepare cutlets and burgers indoors on her George Foreman Grill G5. Not only did the food taste tremendous, but clean up was a snap too. That was it for me, I was sold. Read the rest of this entry »

We just purchased an Aquasana under the counter water filter along with a shower filter for the bathroom. The model was the Aquasana AQ-4210. What we like is that the dual filter system water filter is so superior to plastic “jug” type filters like Britta. Hooking it up was very simple and easy to accomplish. We took our sprayer out of the sink (which we never used) and replaced it with the faucet, which came with the unit. Then a couple of screws with the filter part under the sink and a couple of “push” connections and we were done! Read the rest of this entry »
